REPATRIATION SITES

The designated Repatriation Centers will:

·        Coordinate with HHS, Public Health Service, Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, Customs and Border Protection, etc. to satisfy legal requirements for the re-entry of noncombatants into the US.

  • Ensure the well-being of DoD noncombatants while at the Repatriation Center. That assistance includes, but is not limited to meals, family care, medical services, counseling, temporary lodging and transportation.
  • Provide financial assistance to those who are authorized entitlements. Noncommand sponsored dependents are not entitled to receive safe haven or designated location benefits; however, they will be provided the same services as others processing through the repatriation site. Command sponsored dependents are entitled to transportation to a final safe haven and certain allowances while in a safe haven status. If it has been determined that dependents will proceed on to a designated location, family members receive other entitlements. All command sponsored dependents will receive tickets for transportation to their final safe haven or designated location and a 30 day advance on allowances. DoD federal civilian employees and their dependents are also authorized certain entitlements, and their representatives will be available to advise them of such.
  • Provide emergency relief through Service relief organizations, the American Red Cross, USO, Salvation Army and other civilian aid organizations.
  • Coordinate temporary emergency care and custody of unaccompanied minor dependents.
  • Provide legal assistance, if needed.
  • Provide initial data from DD Form 2585, Repatriation Processing Center Processing Sheet into the centralized database for personnel accountability throughout the safe haven period.

DoD Service Components have designated Service specific organizations to provide follow-on support to their respective family members once they leave the Repatriation Site.
