Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the Army-approved intervention training.
- 2-Day ASIST training: Gatekeepers will attend a two (2) day training session to obtain additional identification and intervention skills. The two-day ASIST workshops are coordinated locally and taught by ASIST certified training personnel.
- 5-Day ASIST Train the Trainer (T4T): ASIST T4T is additional training available which equips personnel with the ability to train ASIST. ASIST T4T certification requires the individual to complete a five-day course and conduct three (3) ASIST 2-day classes within the first year and one (1) for each year thereafter. The five-day workshops are coordinated through Suicide Prevention Program Managers (SPPM). Individuals who complete the five-day class and conduct three 2-Day ASIST classes within the first year receive an additional skill identifier. Information on ASIST training is available through the LivingWorks website: http://www.livingworks.net
